It?s fashions and five irons

TOP golf and fancy outfits shared equal billing at the Yeppoon Golf Club last Friday.

The annual Yeppoon Pineapple Festival ladies' 27-hole foursome championship again proved one of the most colourful events on the Central Queensland golfing calendar.

On the scoreboard Jan Farquhar and Trish Delforce card-ed 126 gross to win the silver division by two strokes from Lynell Collins and Kerrie Rodda.

The silver division best nett winners were Carol Young and Joy Absolon with 111 to win from the mother-and-daughter combination of Pam Drillis and Nyree Malone (112).

Bronze division winners were Mary Willis and Ivy Casey (148) from Kathy Dawson and Gail Sneddon (155).

The bronze nett winners were Margaret Rodd and Laurel Thompson (112) from Desley Davies and June Bowden (115).

In the fashion stakes, Jo Crockford and Bev Macpherson were judged to be wearing the best outfits while Young and Absolon had the best hats and golf buggy.
