Jamie-Lee spearheads golden run in Mackay

JUNIOR surf lifesaver JamieLee Langdon has spearheaded Emu Park Surf Life Saving Club's success in the North Australian Championships in Mackay at the weekend.

Langdon convincingly won gold in the under-12 female surf race and the ironmaiden events, and guided her team to gold in the swim team and the cameron relay events.

In the under-13 events, Marley Bevan won gold in both the beach flags and beach sprint.

The under-14 age group was very competitive, with the team events proving more successful.

The surf swim and beach relay teams both won gold, while the male board rescue and Cameron relay teams placed second.

Sarah Connolly performed well, winning bronze in the under-15 champion lifesaver event.

Yeppoon competitors were also among the medals with Brittany Brymer winning her beach sprint.

Joining the silver medallists were Todd Russell in his swim, board and ironman events, while Tessa Power finished second in her under-15 beach sprint.
