Juniors send out warning

THE CENTRAL Queensland under-13 representative team has sent a warning to their rivals in the buildup to next month's State championships in Rockhampton.

The talented CQ outfit continued their promising build-up to this year's State Talent Identification Series (TIS) championships in Townsville at the weekend.

Competing at the North Queensland Quad Series ? the annual leadup tournament to the State championships ? the under-13s impressed against their Far North Queensland, North Queensland and South North Queensland opponents.

After a second and third place finish at last year's Gino Paris under12 championships in Biloela, the CQ team looks set for a successful tournament when hosting the State TIS championships at Rockhampton's Jardine Park from June 18-25.

Another team to produce some encouraging results was the CQ under13 State Cup side, who will also play at home when they hit Rockhampton's Ryan Park from June 25-July 2.

The CQ under-12 teams travel to Silkwood for this year's Gino Paris championships, while the under-15s head north to Townsville.

Rockhampton's Justin Kilshaw is the Queensland Country under-15 coach.

The CQ under-16 side take on the State's best players in Brisbane.
