Kabra owner loses appeal against fines

KABRA racehorse owner Bob Sutton yesterday had an appeal against $2000 in fines imposed by Queensland Racing stewards dismissed by the First Level Appeals Board in Brisbane.

The fines related to a Rockhampton stewards inquiry into the bona fides of the training connections of the Sutton-owned horse Sir Allister.

Sutton was fined for allegedly not obeying stewards directions in relation to Sir Allister while he was awaiting the granting of a licence to train his racehorses with Queensland Racing.

While Sutton lost out yesterday, he now has 14 days to further appeal to the higher level Racing Appeals Tribunal.
