Lady Luck?s one of our prize visitors

LADY Luck appears to have settled in Central Queensland.

Lotto and pokie players have been cashing in big time all over the district.

Three days ago, a Rockhampton couple, who wish to remain anonymous, won the $1 million Gold Lotto prize after buying a ticket in Wandal.

This was the third $1 million ticket sold at the Wandal News-agency in six years.

"It really is a thrill just to sell the winner,'' said part-owner of the Wandal Newsagency Bar-bara Robinson.

And last week a woman, who could not be named, won a $55,000 jackpot on the poker machines at Rockhampton Leagues Club.

"She won the statewide jackpot,'' said manager Paul Bungy.

"We do have big winners on the pokie machines on a regular basis, but that amount was larger than most.''

Mr Bungy said the club also gave out a $10,000 cash prize each month.

The Emerald Village News-agency also sold five second division winning tickets for Wednesday's Lotto. The five shared a pot of over $25,000.

"They each won $5659,'' said newsagency owner Peter Murphy. "We celebrated with the winners and cracked open a bottle of champagne.'' This was the fourth second division winning ticket the Emerald Village Newsagency has sold. "We hope the big one comes our way soon,'' he said.

"We hope to sell the upcoming $25 million prize.
