Legends are made for grand finals
LEGENDS took home the Rockhampton Basketball division one men's crown on Sunday night after trouncing Uni Buckets in the grand final at Rockhampton's Hegvold Stadium.
Captain Greg Scott steered his team to the 86-72 win with a 23point haul, backed up by Peter Trenery and Zane Borg with 20 and 19 points respectively.
Scott's hard work also earned him the Steve Newell Memorial trophy, awarded to the most valuable player of the grand final.
However, Scott's older brother, Uni Buckets' Paul Scott, was top scorer of the match with 24 points while captain Darren Richardson sunk three threepointers to score 21.
Meanwhile, Southside Toledo capped off a successful year with a narrow win over Frenchville Panthers in the division one women's decider.
Kristie Anderson topped the score with 20 points and Kasey Bulman sunk three three-pointers to deliver Toledo the 41-38 win.
Legends came out on top of the Panthers again in the division two men's grand final with a 60-55 win.
The win came despite a sterling effort from Kurtis Bolck who sunk six three-pointers for a total score of 29.
Ben Greany topped the score for Legends with 17 points followed by Jason Hinton with 14.
Devils took home the division two women's title after scoring a convincing win over All Blacks.
