Lethal Leigh roars to super sedan series win

YEPPOON speedway driver Leigh Williams has left the field in his wake to win round two of the Repco Auto Parts Super Sedan Series at the Rockhampton Showgrounds on Saturday night.

After a last-start victory in Mackay, Williams started on poll position and led all the way to win the 20-lap feature race from Dysart's Des Korn and Rockhampton's Bryan Owen.

In the AMCA Nationals, Brisbane's Rob Kelly held out the Blackwater pairing of Dean Ballard and Mick Callaghan to take the chequered flag.

Rockhampton's Gareth Keith had the fender bender race covered, but the real battle on the track was for second and third positions.

Darren Saunders eventually held off fellow Rockhampton driver Rae Howkins to claim second place.

In the super stockers the race was declared on the 14th lap, the last lap, after a crash stopped racing.

Rockhampton's Danny Lennon was declared the winner ahead of fellow Rockhampton drivers Jeff Ohl and Tony Hoffman.

The Rockhampton Saloon Car Club will next host a crasharama on New Year's Eve at the Rockhampton Showgrounds where the lucky winner ? sole survivor ? can collect $2000 in prizemoney.
