Little sick girl email is a hoax

AN EMAIL doing the rounds about a seven-year-old Springsure girl with a large tumour on her brain and severe lung cancer is a hoax.

The email reads in part: "Hi, my name is Amy Bruce ... The doctors say I will die soon if this isn't fixed, and my family can't pay the bills. The Make A Wish Foundation has agreed to donate 7 cents for every time this message is sent on.''

At the bottom of the email is the contact details of the innocent victim, Springsure's Carmel O'Keeffe.

"It arrived in my mailbox in June and, feeling sorry for the girl, I sent it on,'' Ms O'Keeffe said.

"Somehow my contact details now appear at the bottom. I have no idea where it (email) came from.''

Ms O'Keeffe said she was constantly receiving emails and phone calls in relation to Amy Bruce, who may not even be a real person.
