Man?s Biloela crime spree

A 24-YEAR-OLD man who went on a mini crime spree in a Biloela caravan park to fuel his drug habit has been sentenced to an extra four months in jail.

Damon Matthew Tait, 24, who is serving 12 months for break-ins in the Mackay region, plead- ed guilty to an extra 10 charges in Mackay Magis- trates Court.

Prosecutor Sergeant Neville Cox said Tait broke into several vans at the Boomerang Cara- van Park in Biloela in September.

He stole a camera, a telescopic lens, two pairs of flippers and other diving equipment.

Tait also cut open the covers of a utility to check what was inside and broke into a car and stole a mobile phone and a camera.

Tait told Biloela detectives that he was drunk at the time and he did silly things when drunk. He had committed the offences to support a $400-a- day amphetamine habit.
