By AARON KELLY ? AMERICAN import Michael Hart will not be rushed back from injury for this week's tough southern road trip, despite the Rockhampton Stadium Nightclub Rockets' injury crisis.
Rockets point guard Mike McShane had a metal plate inserted into his broken hand yesterday.
McShane, who sustained the injury in the final minutes of the Rockets' thrilling 117-106 win over the Townsville Heat on Saturday night, will be sidelined for 6-8 weeks.
A doctor's appointment today will give Hart a further idea on the damage to his broken hand.
The power forward has not played a game in the Cavalier Corporation QABL Sunstate Division 2005 season since the pre-season injury.
Rockets coach Neal Tweedy said medical advice would determine whether Hart would suit-up for Friday night's clash against the Gold Coast.
The Rockets then back up to play South West Metro in Brisbane on Saturday night.
"We'll wait to see what the doctor says, but probably won't risk him this week,'' Tweedy said.
The Rockets will have to be on their guard against the Gold Coast and South West who are both looking to kick-start their campaigns at home.
The Gold Coast, led by a gamehigh 33 points from former Rocket Thalo Green, are coming off a 96-79 loss to Cairns while South West are fresh from a bye.
