Mid-air sex attack on sleeping mother
A MUM cradling her baby during a Jetstar flight woke to find a stranger's hand on her groin, Rockhampton Magistrates Court heard yesterday.
She did not tell anyone during the Rockhampton-to-Brisbane flight because she was "scared'' of accused man Peter Daniel Hall, 29, who was sitting next to her.
"I was really quite nervous. I was scared for my little girl,'' the 23-year-old said, under cross-examination during yesterday's committal hearing.
Hall, who was committed to stand trial at a date to be fixed, is charged with unlawful and indecent assault on August 2 last year.
The complainant yesterday told the court she had noticed Hall and two "friends'' board the plane shortly after securing her four-month-old daughter in a harness on her lap at a window seat.
She said she heard one of the men (not Hall) make a sexual remark about her.
She said the friends laughed and Hall giggled before he sat in the seat next to her.
After waking she said she felt Hall's right hand on her groin area and he was leaning over to look out the window.
She said his fingers had performed a "stepping motion'' towards her groin.
"He did brush past my groin area with his little finger,'' she said.
"My legs were apart, it was very easy for him to do.''
She said the touching had occurred on the outside of her long brown pants.
"I was very scared.''
She said she was too afraid to lean over Hall to reach a buzzer.
