More charges for paedophile dad

A TRUSTED father who was convicted for sexual acts on his fiveyear-old daughter and two other children appeared in Rockhampton District Court yesterday on more charges regarding the same incident.
The 46-year-old Rockhampton man was brought before the Judge to answer to charges of two counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16.
One count occurred when the man's daughter had friends over for a sleepover.
A six-year-old complainant told police that they had been watching videos under a blanket when the accused put his hand down her pants and touched her vagina.
The second complaint relates to the same evening, where the man had two children under 12 watching pornographic videos.
According to the prosecution these allegations were not looked into by the police at the time the original investigation occurred.
The accused pleaded guilty to the charges placed before him yesterday and Judge Grant Britton sentenced him to 18 months for each charge.
Judge Britton said that because these matters should have been dealt with at the time of original sentencing, April 14, 2005, "any sentence imposed today should be served concurrently.''
In April, the Rockhampton man was convicted and sentenced to six years jail for 22 counts of indecent treatment of girls under 12, indecent treatment of a girl under 14, and various counts relating to involving children in objectional computer games.
