Myers, Bembridge shine

FRENCHVILLE'S Megan Myers has had a top season.

The Frenchville under-14 division two player and Parkana U14 division two player Kirby Bembridge were named Rockhampton and District Soccer Federation (RDSF) joint players of the year after the grand finals at Rockhampton's Norbridge Park on Saturday.

This year Myers also played in the Frenchville senior women's team.

U12 division two team Parkana Lightning received the Peter Vanvarkaris trophy for the highest goal difference. Southside Blue had to survive a penalty shootout to win the U12 division 2A title over Parkana Lightning.

Scores remained locked at 1-all after exra time before Southside landed a 4-3 win on penalties.

Southside White won the U12 division one premiership with a 2-0 win over Bluebirds Royal while Nerimbera Brothers are the U12 division 2B champions after a 1-0 victory against Bluebirds White.

In the U14 division it was all Bluebirds.

Bluebirds Royal scored a 2-1 win over CQU Berserker to claim the division one title while Bluebirds White produced a 3-2 win over Frenchville Lions in the division two grand final.

This year's U16 champions were Southside United after a 2-0 win against Bluebirds United.
