Neilsen too quick for the pack

STEPHEN Neilsen powered to a win in the Rockhampton and District Motocross Club open event on Sunday.

Neilsen proved too speedy around the Six-Mile Raceway track finishing ahead of Chris Hammond and Colin Williams.

In the junior lites, Beau Dargel was successful with Mick Higgins runner-up and Callum Mayfield third.

Meanwhile club members Shaun, Josh and Tamika Antcliff missed the event, which attracted 94 riders in 10 categories, to compete in the first round of the North Queensland tri-series at Charters Towers on Saturday.

Shaun, aboard his 65cc bike, won the 10-12 years division and currently leads the overall points standings with two rounds remaining.

Josh managed a third placing in the 12-15 years 85cc final and Tamika a fifth in the 7-9 years 65cc race.

Round two at Townsville on Sunday was called off as there was no ambulance available and will now be held in a fortnight.

The trio travels to Ayr this weekend.
