No hang-ups about this champion

DANNIELLE Hick is the perfect mix of personality and professionalism.

This may be why she has won a national Ergon Energy employee award.

The 28-year-old Ergon Energy resource planner has worked in Rockhampton's call centre for three years.

She was recently named call centre champion of the year for the whole of Australia.

Ms Hick said she loved her work and wanted to continue making a difference on the job.

"I was shocked when I was told I won,'' she said. "But it was a pleasant surprise.''

To be named a call centre champion an individual must have a major impact on the centre's operations, said Bronwyn O'Donnell the contact centre's manager.

And Ms Hick does just that.

"She really deserves to be nominated,'' Ms O'Donnell said.

"She is very people orientated.'' Her contribution has not gone unnoticed, and Ms Hick has quickly worked through Ergon Energy's ranks.

"She started here as a phone rep,'' Ms O'Donnell said.

"To go from this to an operational position is a significant change.
