ROCKHAMPTON Golf Club member Steve Sims has held out fellow club player Peter Farley to win the Gracemere Lakes Men's Open Championship for 2005.

Sims won the overall title carding a 113 gross score in the 27-hole on Sunday.

Rockhampton's Peter Farley was just one stroke behind Sims to take the A grade gross title by two strokes from Gracemere's Glen Watt.

Scott McAtamney, also of Rockhampton, topped the B grade field carding a winning score of 123 gross on Sunday while in Saturday's C grade play Gracemere's Mick Brown topped the leaderboard with a 134 gross score.

This year's event attracted more than 100 starters.
