Plenty of upsets on fixtures night

IT WAS a night of upsets for both the men's and women teams at Rockhamptons Cyril Connell touch fields on Wednesday.

The Rockhampton Touch Association A-grade men's competition saw the previously undefeated Buckaneers Two go down to Bulldogs 5-2.

Mitchell Smith and Trent Neven both scored twice and Justin Connolly also crossed the line for the Dogs while Clint Withers and Trent O'Mara both scored for Buckaneers Two.

In the A-grade women's competition Turkeys came out on top of equal first-place holders Bulldogs in a 2-1 upset after touchdowns from both Marnie White and Linda Paterson. A match-up between Buckaneers One and Buckaneers Two ended in a two-all draw with Carina Hill and Leah Cheal crosing the line for Buckaneers One and Karla Edwards scoring twice for Buckaneers Two. The B-grade men's competition also threw up a surprise result with Prime Time edging out Bulldogs seven points to six.
