Pumas get a shot in the arm

PUMAS Midnight have received a timely boost to their finals chances in this year's Rockhampton Netball Assocation Senior A division title race.

The fourth-placed Pumas Midnight made it back-to-back wins at Jardine Park on Wednesday night.

Pumas Midnight held out finals rival Brothers Crimson 5147 in a thriller.

Competition leaders Wanderers and Runaways Diamonds extended their stranglehold on the minor premiership.

With premiers and joint-leaders Buckaneers Blades enjoying the bye, Wanderers went on a scoring spree against Brothers Magenta, winning 72-31.

Runaways Diamonds also racked up the goals in their 5018 victory against Angels Saints.

Meanwhile, round two of the Queensland Regional League will be staged at Rockhampton's Central Queensland Community Centre this weekend.

Points ? Wanderers 32, Runaways Diamonds 32, Buckaneers 29, Pumas Midnight 24, Brothers Crimson 20, Brothers Magenta 17, Angels Saints 12.
