Rare injury bites into Cyclones

IN THE bizarre world of sporting injuries, young Rockhampton Hog's Breath Cafe Cyclones point guard Kasey Bulman is in serious doubt for tonight's match after she was bitten by a spider this week.

Bulman, 17, will be given until tip-off to prove her fitness for the Cyclones' Cavalier Corporation QABL Sunstate Division showdown with South West Metro.

Cyclones coach Kevin Bolck said it was a strange one, but he was confident the teenage sensation would be fit to suit-up.

Bulman, who made her return to the court just two games ago on the Gold Coast, was still recovering and on antibiotics yesterday.

Bolck said tonight's match was the perfect opportunity for his team to regain some confidence against an outfit the Cyclones have beaten on the road already this season.

"It's a team we've already had a win against on their home court, so hopefully we'll hit the court with some confidence and a reason to win,'' Bolck said.

"We'd love to get our second win against them and get our first win in front of our home crowd.''

The Cyclones had a nail-biting 68-60 loss to Brisbane last weekend after leading for most of the match.

Bolck said his players had to handle the pressure and improve their execution in the dying minutes tonight.

Tip-off is at 6pm.
