Readers rescue pound puppies



WHEN Jake the cattle dog was faced with the grim prospect of being put down because nobody wanted him, Rockhampton's Candyce Pollard and her dad Noel came to his rescue.

The Pollard family opened their hearts and their home to Jake, a five-month-old blue cattle dog, after reading about his plight in yesterday's The Morning Bulletin.

Jake and at least five other dogs at the Rockhampton City Council Pound were scheduled to be put down at 10am yesterday if a home for them could not be found.
