Resort?s nurse fully qualified

MANAGEMENT at Great Keppel Island Mecure Resort have assured residents their current nurse is fully qualified following revelations a former nurse held no medical qualifications.

Resort general manager Peter Hopgood said there was little he could say about the fake nurse, Sarah-Marie Yeouart, as she worked under previous resort owners Contiki.

Yeouart, 21, now of Brisbane, pleaded guilty in the Brisbane Magistrates Court this week to falsely obtaining work as a nurse at the resort between March and July 2004.

Magistrate Christine Roney ordered Yeouart to complete a 15-month probation, pay legal costs and undergo psychiatric assessment, but no conviction was recorded.

The court heard she had never been registered in Queensland as a nurse, had provided a false registration number and faked her resume.
