Riders rev up for awards

THE motocross competition season is over for another year, but that can not keep the riders off the track.

Riders roared into some track work at the Six Mile Reserve yesterday.

The Rockhampton and District Motocross Club has presented their top riders for the 2005 season.

Top riders were Ty Pearce (50cc, div 2), Conrad Tewes (65cc 7-10 years), Shaun Antcliff (65cc, 10-13 years), Jacob Wright (85cc, 9-12 years), Aaron Hutton (85cc, 12-15 years), Beau Dargel (junior lites), Steve Williams (senior lites), Kelvin Richardson (novice), Ross Spencer (veterans) and Chris Hammond (open).

Hutton also won the award for the highest score in the Rockhampton club by a home track rider.

The young 50cc division one, 4-8 years riders, were also acknowledged this year.

Riders who competed in four or more race days were Levi Richards, Akia Smith, Lauren Wright, Chloe Nichol and Caragh Nichol.

Jacob Samuelsson received an encouragement award in this division.
