Ripperteam, Panthers prepared

By RACHAEL BORICH

RIPPERTEAM Blue division four girls speedster Brianna Swanson is fast proving a sharp shooter on the basketball court.

Swanson joins her team-mates in a grand final showdown against Frenchville Panthers White at Hegvold Stadium tomorrow and must be considered a real threat after scoring all 32 points in her team's 32-24 semifinal win over Frenchville Panthers Green last week.

Swanson started in the Rockhampton Basketball learn to play program last year and is now in the Rockhampton under-12 girls representative team.

The division four boys final features Frenchville Panthers Orange and Ripperteam Lakers.

In tomorrow's division three finals, speedster Jacob Stirling (Southside Toledo) is up against the size of Jordan Baleikatuba while in the girls A final features Frenchville Panthers Fender Benders and Toledo Red while the B decider is between Frenchville Panthers Pixies and Rockhampton under-12 girls team.

The Fender Benders and Red clash should be a nailbiter after they played a drawn game in their last regular round contest.

In division two, Panthers White and Southside Toledo are the girls contenders with Yeppoon young guns Simon Mackie and Michael Healey keys for Toledo Blue against Toledo Red in the boys decider.

Division one teams hit the court on Friday with Frenchville Panthers White and Brothers Ripperteam, missing Queensland North under-16 player Lara Napier, in the girls grand final while the boys decider is between Frenchville Panthers White and Brothers Ripperteam.
