Rocky golfers prove a big hit



? FORMER Rockhampton golfers Craig Funch and Jason Day are proving popular in golfing circles.

Ex-Rockhampton Golf Club member Craig Funch, now at Metropolitan, has topped a field of more than 100 to be named the most popular PGA Club Professional for 2005.

Funch completed his traineeship under former Metropolitan head professional Ross Anderson and stayed at the club as assistant professional.

He took on the top job when Anderson moved to Moonah Links in 2001 and has been doing a great job ever since.

Day, a former Capricorn Country Club junior, was named the most popular Australian amateur golfer.
