A ROCKHAMPTON man died after being crushed by a truck at Blackwater on the weekend.
While his name has not yet been released, The Morning Bulletin understands he was Kelvin Kane, 55, of Hardy Avenue, North Rockhampton.
Mr Kane had been helping to attach a trailer at a transport business when the industrial accident occurred about 11.30am on Saturday.
It is believed Mr Kane was trapped by a reversing truck.
He was then rushed to Blackwater Hospital where he was treated for chest injuries before being flown to Brisbane's Prince Charles Hospital.
He died in hospital on Saturday night.
Some of Mr Kane's Rockhampton family had travelled to Brisbane upon hearing about the accident and are due to return home to Rockhampton today.
It is believed Mr Kane was planning to marry again after his wife died several years ago.
Mr Kane also leaves behind his two sons Lance and Michael and grandchildren.
The Department of Workplace Health and Safety will now investigate the accident.
