Sailors set for race fun

THERE will be wind in the sails and wind blowing out of lungs during tomorrow's 21st Three Island Race staged by the Capricornia Cruising Yacht Club.

Starting from Roslyn Bay the yachts sail to Conical, North Keppel and Great Keppel islands where athletes are dropped off to complete foot runs before returning to the boats.

Club member Tim McCall reckons the racing will be close with a lot of the local Hash House Harriers completing the running legs.

There is a staggered start. The runners start from the clubhouse, run down the pontoon, and jump on their boats and go.

"But, primarily it's a fun event.'' The fun should be doubled once the fleet lands on Great Keppel with the Keppel Bay Sailing Club Keppel Krippler arriving at the same time, he said.

The weather promised an eight- to 12knot south-eastly breeze.
