Sasha in golden touch



ROCKHAMPTON Grammarians Rowing Club star Sasha Belonogoff has capped a golden performance at this week's national titles at Lake Barrington in Tasmania.

Belonogoff won his first national gold medal in the under-17 boys single scull final yesterday, winning by 1.8 seconds.

It was a family affair on finals day with younger sister, Annie, leading the Grammarians under17 girls quad crew to silver.

She joined sisters, Sarah and Michelle Chapman, Georgia Dunn and cox Sophie Holloway in a groundbreaking performance for the young crew, which includes two 13-year-olds.

In ther under-17 girls single scull final, Dunn claimed bronze.

"It's been an outstanding regatta for us, the spirit is extremely high,'' Grammarians head coach Alan Bromiley said.

The titles continue today.
