Shuker continues to captain winners

ROCKHAMPTON'S Gavin Shuker has continued to captain the Australian open men's touch football team to an unbeaten run at the All Nations Championships in Christchurch, New Zealand.

In yesterday's play the Australians had wins over the Cook Islands (5-2) and New Zealand Maoris (10-5).

Emerald's Matt Barclay also celebrated a double with his Australian 30 men's team yesterday after victories against Thailand (17-0) and Scotland (15-1).

Former Rockhampton player Justin Mitchell, now in Brisbane, joined the Australian open mixed team's wins over the Cook Islands (9-6) and USA (13-1) while Rockhampton's Tammy House had a mixed day with the Australian 35 women's team.

House opened with a 5-2 win over Oceania 35s before suffering a 5-2 loss to the New Zealand 30s women's team. In Thursday's play, the open men beat England (13-1) and main rival New Zealand (7-6).

Barclay also tasted victory over New Zealand in the 30 men's division with a 7-4 victory.

House played a 3-0 loss against the Australian 30 women's team while the open mixed team lost to New Zealand (6-4) and defeated the Cook Islands (17-0).
