Sister act wins spot at the Com Games

? MACKAY sister act Benita Johnson and Caitlin Willis have run themselves into Australia's Commonwealth Games athletics team.

Johnson (nee Willis), 26, will contest the 10,000m and Willis, 23, will join the 4x400m relay team.

They were named in a 123strong Australian athletics team announced yesterday.

However Amy Harris, a former student at The Cathedral College, missed selection in the women's 4x100m relay team.

Former Frenchville State School student Bronwyn Thompson qualified in long jump as did Canberra's Kerrie Taurima, the wife of Sydney 2000 Olympic Games long jump sensation Jai Taurima and sister of Rockhampton touch football player Greta Perkins.

Making their Australian team debuts at the Commonwealth Games are former Ireland runner Sonia O'Sullivan (5000m) and Nigeria's Ambrose Ezenwa (100m, 200m, 4x100m relay).
