State fours on Bribie

CENTRAL Queensland men's bowlers have made the annual pilgrimage to Bribie Island for the 2005 State district fours championships.

A strong CQ squad will line up against the best in the business starting on Sunday.

CQ will play Mackay, Gold Coast/ Tweed, Condamine, Cunningham, Maranoa/Warrego, Sunshine Coast, North Queensland, Darling Downs and Leichardt teams in the roundrobin tournament.

The 16-member team boasts players from North Rockhampton, Diggers, Yeppoon, Victoria Park and Moura clubs. Finals will be played on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Bates Goddard Fours will hit North Rockhampton greens on May 14 and 15.

Clubs represented are Diggers, Rockhampton, North Rockhampton, Gracemere, Yeppoon, Dee, Emu Park, Moura, Past Presidents, QRI, Victoria Park and CQ district.

Five rounds will be played with the two leading teams to play-off in the final.
