Stock up on teams fun

ON-TRACK rivalries will be put aside when Rockhampton Saloon Car Club hosts the Queensland Super Stocker Teams Challenge this weekend.

Joining the team-style racing at Rockhampton Showgrounds tonight are three local contenders, piloted by Rockhampton drivers Danny Lennon and Roy Boase, along with Gogango's national champion Jeff Ohl.

Teams will hit the grid with six drivers, with two chasing maximum points in all six preliminary rounds.

After the heats action, the highest ranked driver from each team meets in the final.

On the support program, Rockhampton's Laurie Storer will debut his new V8 Falcon in the fender benders.

The popular ramp racing is also back, while a quality field will line-up in the V8 AMCAs.

Tonight's program, which starts at 6.30, continues the build-up to the World Series Sprintcars Championships.

The international event returns to the Rockhampton Showgrounds for the first time in 20 years on November 16.
