Students plan to celebrate

By AARON KELLY ? IAN Coombe Oval will be a place of reunions today, but business comes first for early competition pacesetters University.

Celebrating 35 years this weekend, University will tackle Colts in round two of the Rockhampton and District Rugby Union A-grade competition.

After an impressive opening round 17-14 win over premiers Frenchville Pioneers, University has been boosted by the return of representative players Murray Brookes, Arno Coetzz, Craig Wilkes, Rupert Collins and Keith Taylor for the reunion match.

Recruit and Brahmans prop Scott Manley is unavailable.

"It's going to be a good day out, there with two very good footy teams playing,'' University coach Brent Stephens said.

"We've trained well this weekend and I'm happy with our preparations, but we still have a job to do.''

The University outfit will be somewhat of a family affair with brothers Nick and Jarvis Collins lining up outwide and their cousin, Rupert, on the side of the scrum.

Colts, who launched their title campaign with a 17-11 victory against Colts, have also welcomed back Brahmans Che Anderson, Mick Benson, Zach Jones and Paul Robinson.

Joining the University celebrations are former gamebreakers Scott Barton and Jason Hetherington.

Round 2 ? (Today) Frenchville Pioneers v Dawson Valley (Rugby Park), University v Colts (Ian Coombe Oval), Brothers bye.
