Summer grand finals heat up close rivalry

EXPECT the unexpected when All Nighters and Bullants continue their dire battle in the Rockhampton Touch Association A Masters grand final at Cyril Connell Fields tonight.

Intensity will be the name of the game with Bullants sneaking into the grand final thanks to a Mick Assay touchdown after a three-on-three drop-off win over Eels the previous weekend.

Several Bullants players will hit the field after competing at the State Cup on the Sunshine Coast over the weekend and they will look to players like Gary Benbow, Shane Johnson, Steve Berry and John Fitzgerald to get them over the line.

All Nighters have a good allround side with players like Simon Barclay, Alex Beasley, Ke- vin Saunders and Matt Fraser.

In the A mixed final Scorpions also reached the grand final after winning in a drop-off the previous week.

Brothers Wade and Clint Rothery are the game breakers for Scorpions along with Justin Connolly and Greta Perkins.

The Assassins line-up has a quartet of brothers on their side in Daniel, Clint, Mitchell and Ryan Withers along with talents like Nicole Higlett and Connie Schulz.

The A Masters final is at 7.15pm followed by the A mixed final at 8pm.

Tonight's action hosts 14 grand finals before the men's and women's grand finals on Wednesday night.
