Tannum Sands take to Gabba grass

AFL CAPRICORNIA powerhouse the Boyne Island Tannum Sands Saints will have their best team available for this weekend's AFL Community Club Challenge at the Gabba.

The Saints have announced their final squad of 28 players for Saturday's clash against North Mackay.

BITS spokesman Craig Brice said the team was not affected by any major injuries.

"We've got no injuries, so we should be going in at full steam,'' Brice said.

"We're coming off a good win last week and will be showcasing some top players.

"Queensland country representa-tive Darren Boase is in very good form and Nathan Shipard kicked 11 goals last week in our game against Brothers.''

Brice also noted the inclusion of talented youngster Jake Mostert, who has just finished his stint with the Country Kookaburras who competed last weekend in the AFL Queensland State Under 16 Championships in Brisbane.

"The club is very excited about this weekend and that's not just about the football aspect, but also the opportunity to play on the Gabba,'' Brice said.

The Saints' match is the curtainraiser to the Lions round nine AFL match against Richmond.
