Team courts family ties

By RACHAEL BORICH ? ROCKHAMPTON Senior A division netball team Brothers Crimson might have to change its name to Team McDevitt this season. Hitting the court for Crimson this season are sisters ? Michelle, 24, Kerrie, 22, and Suzanne, 20, McDevitt.

The sisters played their first outdoor game together last week in Crimson's 38-28 loss to Runaways Diamonds and all three are back on court tonight when Crimson chases their second win of the season against Angels Saints at the Jardine Park courts.

Suzanne, who has made a comeback in shooting duties this year, was a regular team member last year with Michelle (wing attack/ centre) making sporadic appearances.

However, this is Kerrie's (wing attack/centre) first year back at outdoor netball in several years.

The Crimson family connections don't stop with the McDevitts.

Circle defender Heidi Barnett (nee Johnson) and centre court player Trudi Johnson are sisters while Crimson's other circle defender Krista White is the daughter of Crimson coach Ronda White.

In other Senior A games tonight, Pumas Midnight have a chance to bridge the game on the top two teams when they face the unbeaten Wanderers while Buckaneers Blades also have the chance to consolidate a top-four position against Brothers Magenta.
