Team wipes out debt for New Zealand tour

? A TASTE of international cricket, a cultural experience and some high-speed action are all on the agenda for the Rockhampton Cricket's annual under-16 cricket tour to New Zealand next month.

After washing 5200 cars over the past 12 months near Rockhampton's PCYC, in the touring team's biggest fundraiser venture, the team is now ready to tour from January 10-23.

"They were throwing a fair bit of water around after washing that last car,'' under-16 coach Brian Raguse said.

They will play five games on New Zealand's North Island as well as learning about the New Zealand culture and throwing in some white-water rafting and luging for good measure.

Raguse said it was all about playing a bit of international cricket and having a good holiday at the same time.

The team is taking 11 players with Shaun Kelly forced to pull out due to Queensland under-16 commitments at the same time.

Trent Raguse, Boyd Schwarz and Nick Harris are also in the touring team.

Rockhampton under-16 teams have been touring for about the past 25 years.
