Terrace claims win at championships

RYDGES Capricorn Resort golfer Peter Terrace has gone one better than last year to win the 2006 Emu Park Men's Open Championship on Sunday.

Terrace, who was runner-up to Yeppoon teen Boyd Watts in last year's event, carded a winning score of one under 139 to claim The Morning Bulletin Shield.

The Rydges golfer carded a two under 68 in Saturday's opening round before coming home with a one over 71 in the final round on Sunday.

Talented young Emu Park golfer Wyley Ince along with Robbie Powell produced the next best scores finishing a further 11 shots back on 151.

Ince was awarded the A grade champions title after a one hole play-off with Powell.

In the B grade competition Errol Miller (161) won from Darren Aitken (167).

This year's C grade champion was Dave Wust (176), winning from Michael Bennett (178).
