The future has arrived

QUEENSLAND'S future stars of rugby league hit the field at Rockhampton's Browne Park from today.

The State Junior Champion- ships feature six regions vy- ing for honours in under-13, 14 and 16 years divisions.

South-East Queensland are the defending champions in the 13 and 14 years divisions while Southern are the reign- ing under-16 champions.

Central Queensland placed fourth in under-13s last year with three players named in the Queensland team.

Biloela's Lyndon Law and Clermont's Callan Peach were among the State representa- tives and step up to the under- 14 division this year.

Central Queensland's un- der-14s and 16s finished fifth at last year's titles.

Wide Bay and South East's under-13s are first on the field today from 9.30am with Cen- tral Queensland's under-13s opening the host region's cam- paign against Northern at 3.30pm.

The final day's play is on Saturday.
