The Glen unable to withstand Brothers fightback

THE GLEN have suffered a blow to their Gladstone Cricket A-grade premiership defence.

The defending champions lost their opening round one-day match against Brothers by eight wickets on Saturday.

Chasing The Glen's 6/116 (35 overs), Brothers' Pat Laws (55no) guided his side to 2/120.

In the two-day match, Calliope will resume at 0/26 this Saturday in pursuit of BITS' 259.

Meanwhile, Central Queensland teams are being finalised for their opening round games against Mackay/Whitsunday in Rockhampton on October 15-16.
