Tomahawk victim charged

A VICTIM of a North Rockhampton home invasion, still supporting tomahawk wounds to his head, was arrested yesterday after allegedly headbutting and punching his de facto.

Police were called to a disturbance at the troubled Berserker Street address about 1.30pm yesterday.

Ironically at the same house last Sunday, the 40-year-old man and another occupant, 60, were attacked and hit in the head with a tomahawk during a home invasion.

He was yesterday charged with breaching a domestic violence order and assault.

North Rockhampton police shift supervisor Sergeant Greg Price said the man and his de facto, who live at the Berserker Street address, had been out drinking before returning to the home.

Sergeant Price said the pair became involved in an argument before the man allegedly head-butted her twice.

He also allegedly punched her and she retaliated by biting him on a hand.

The man will appear in court at a later date.
