Toovey manages to land a spot on the squad

QUEENSLAND Cricket's new Central Queensland regional cricket manager Sean Toovey has unexpectedly found himself in a North Queensland representative team.

Toovey, along with Rockhampton's Todd Wells, gained NQ open team selection after yesterday's play at the North Queensland Championships in Mackay.

The opens play South Queensland in Mackay on November 26 and 27.

Central Queensland players named in the NQ under-19 team were Rockhampton's Liam Kelly and Alan Ryder along with Gladstone's Nathan Rabnott and Liam Kirk.

The under-19s face North Queensland in Mackay on November 12-13. Gladstone bowler Rowan Murray is Central Queensland's sole representative in the NQ under-17 team to play in Brisbane later this year.
