Triple-0 hoax caller cited shooting

A PRANK call to triple-O landed Elwyn Carl Tilberoo in Rockhampton Magistrates Court yesterday.

The court heard Tilberoo, 27, called the emergency services number on March 4.

He told an operator he had shot someone but hung up before the call could be transferred to Rockhampton police.

Police later charged him with making menacing and harassing phone calls.

His solicitor, Shane Studdert, told the court Tilberoo was having a bad day and had been feeling depressed when he made the phone call.

Tilberoo pleaded guilty and was fined $300.
