When TV viewing was for the birds

IT was a meal too good to refuse for a flock of cockatoos.

The hungry birds chewed through a coaxial cable of Mount Morgan's television retransmission tower, cutting some services.

Mount Morgan Shire Council chief executive officer Michael Rowe said the town had been without UHF television since 11am on Friday.

He said about 100 houses were without television while others were still able to watch VHF channels.

Mr Rowe said the television channels affected were Seven, Ten and SBS.
