Woman loses marital rings
by TAMARA KEMP ? IT IS every married woman's nightmare. For Rockhampton resident Melinda White, it came true. The day before her fifth wedding anniversary, Mrs White lost her dress ring, engagement ring and wedding ring. The 32-year-old mother said she lost the items Friday morning, somewhere between City Centre Plaza and Fitzroy and Bolsover Street.
The rings were in her bag, which also contained her wallet. "At first I just thought to myself, 'It's only my wallet, I can have my cards replaced','' she said.
"But then I remembered that I had my rings in there and I came down in tears.''
Mrs White said she had her rings off her fingers because her fingers were swollen from her pregnancy with her daughter Caitlyn.
She said she had never lost her rings before and hoped that they would be returned to her soon.
"I feel I have got an empty feeling in the pit of my stomach. It's the equivalent of a nightmare,'' she said.
"The dress ring was actually the first ring my husband Anthony ever gave me, so they are all sentimental to me.''
While she has not given up hope, Mrs White said she hoped someone would come forward with information.
She said she was offering a reward for the return of her rings.
