Woman remanded over stab incident in CBD

A 45-year-old woman who allegedly stabbed a 48year-old man twice will appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court today.

Francis Margaret Oram. of no fixed address, was charged yesterday in the Rockhampton court with unlawful wounding and was remanded in custody overnight.

Passers-by looked on yesterday morning as Rockhampton scenes of crime officers taped off a section of Bolsover Street where the stabbing took place.

At 7am, Rockhampton police were called to the Kern Arcade car park after Oram allegedly stabbed a man twice.

CIB plainclothes Constable Brendan Davis said Oram and the man had an argument beforehand.

"The man received two stab wounds from the attack, one to his left, upper-rear leg and the other to his back near his left shoulder blade,'' he said.

He said Oram was arrested and appeared in Rockhampton court yesterday afternoon.

Constable Davis said the man was taken to Rockhampton Hospital shortly after attending the police station.

He said police later found a serrated steak knife, believed to be the weapon, in a wheelie bin nearby.
