Women hit sand in title hunt

? A GROUP of golfing ladies from Rockhampton's Capri- corn Country Club are on two missions as they prepare to hit Alpha's sand-green golf course tomorrow.

Firstly, they hope to return home with another shield, and secondly, they have some big social plans.

Capricorn Country Club is the Coastal Zone representa- tive after outplaying teams from Rockhampton, Emu Park and, last year's champions, Yeppoon.

Arriving in Alpha they will meet teams from Highlands, Southern and Western dis- tricts ? the Emerald club from the Highlands are the de- fending champions.

Capricorn Country Club won the title the previous year in Tambo.

The Rockhampton-based club is sending 19 golfers to Alpha for the one-day single stroke event.
