Women slug it out in name of beauty



MORE THAN 25 ladies turned out at the Capricorn Country Club last Wednesday to compete for glory and make-up on the golf course.

The 18-hole single stableford competition was sponsored by cosmetics company L'Oreal Paris with winners and runnersup all taking home special gift packs.

Regina Gallagher took out top honours in the silver category with a score of 42, coming in ahead of Marie Mallyon with 37.

Gallagher was in form on the day, also winning the pro-shots 0-29 handicap.

Meanwhile, in the bronze competition Lorraine Schlegel came in at number one after nudging out runner-up Elaine Jones.

Schlegel was also on top in the pro shots for the 30-45 handicap.

Thelma Rumpf won the pin shots of the 0-29 handicap.
