X-rated beer label stirs up drinkers

TRACEY Stegman is brooding over an X-rated Belgium brew found at the Anchor Hotel.

The beer, named Sexy Lager, features a model on the label, whose bikini can be scratched off.

"I don't think it is necessary to have a naked chick on it. I refuse to buy one and do not like it when my husband buys them,'' she said.

Of course, her husband, Garrath stands by the beer and said he will continue to drink it.

"It's a good idea, you have something to look at while you are drinking,'' he said.

"It tastes good too.''

And while Mr Stegman's comments may earn him a few nights sleeping on the couch, he is not alone.

Since The Anchor Hotel began stocking the beer they have had trouble keeping it on the shelves.

"I didn't know what was on the label when I ordered it,'' said bar owner Elliot Hilse.

"But it has been really popular and we are always selling out.''

The bar, which features over 40 beers from around the globe has stocked the beer for about two months and Mr Hilse said his customers either love it or hate it.
