Man arrested after attempted CBD hold-up

UPDATE 2.30pm: A QUEENSLAND Police spoksman confirmed police have arrested a man following the attempted hold-up on a business in East St this afternoon. 

The spokesman said crews were called to a business on the corner of Stanley and East Sts just before 1pm following reports a man had entered the business, demanded money and stated he had a gun. 

However, no firearm was sighted. 

Police apprehended the man on Quay St a short time later. No firearm was located. He is assisting police with inquiries. 

It is understood the man is suffering from mental health issues. 

UPDATE 1.07PM: Police have apprehended a man with a similar appearance on the corner of William and Quay St. 

 

1PM: POLICE are currently looking for a man in his 60's who held up a business on the intersection of Quay St and Stanley St.

The man, described as wearing "dirty green shirt" and having "grey hair", allegedly said "give us your money, I've got a gun" before leaving the scene on foot and heading towards East St.
