Attempted carjacking at busy Mackay shopping centre

POLICE have issued an appeal for information after a woman was attacked in the car-park at Mount Pleasant Plaza.

About 2.20pm yesterday the woman, who was aged in her 60s, was making her way back to her car when she was set upon by a man who tried to take her vehicle.

The attack was unsuccessful and the would-be carjacker fled the scene on foot but the woman's wrist and forearm were hurt.

A police spokesman said there was no description of the attacker and no one had been arrested or charged.
